Tesonis Nature Area – Sa Rutta Stampada and Punta Cartuceddu Trail – Tesonis Nature Area
The Tesonis Nature Reserve, situated north of Marina di Tertenia, lies within the Monte Ferru SCI and offers various facilities, including a car park, a mini-golf course and a picnic area.
Tesonis also serves as a key access point to the local hiking network, from where the trail to Sa Rutta Stampada and Punta Cartuceddu begins. The Cartuceddu–Monte Ferru trail also intersects and connects with this area, continuing on to the Fustiragili forest via Genn’e Tidu. From here, following an old dirt track, you can reach the natural pools known as Is Piscinas, situated on the border with the municipality of Gairo.
Sa Rutta Stampada is one of the area’s main points of natural and scenic interest. It is a natural monument characterised by a distinctive rock formation pierced by a large hole, situated at around 200 metres above sea level.
From the top of the monument, you can enjoy a sweeping view of the coast: to the south lies Marina di Tertenia, whilst to the north the view opens out onto Coccorrocci beach and, in the background, the entire stretch of coastline extending as far as Baunei.
