Visitors area

The quarantine station had up to five different areas for visitors, spaces that used distance and air currents so that the quarantined could communicate with their peers from other divisions without risking propagation of diseases. This space in particular was designed for meetings between those confined and clean travellers, who were exempt from quarantine. These visitors booths are individual and separated by a lattice, in between was a deep basin containing a solution of water and vinegar, which was expected to help keep the air free from pestilence. To the north the quarantine station’s outer wall is visible. If the original project had been completed, on this northern side, and of a similar size to the present entire complex, the construction of a large clean bill of health division for passengers and crew who did not have to pass the quarantine would have been developed. Logic and the economical cost made for this part of the project to never be executed.
