Belvedere Monte Longu

Cala Gonone has its back covered by three natural towers: Monte Irveri, Monte Bardia and Monte Tului.
They seem to create a Bastion around the town, a stronghold that over the centuries has protected the territory from human exploitation.
The beaches are surrounded by stacks and rocks overlooking the crystal-clear waters of the Gulf.
The limestone mountains retain the appearance they had centuries ago, amidst unspoilt woods, Mediterranean scrub, and wildlife.
The water, in its millennial course through these places, has carved caves and arches in the stone and has shaped the landscape making it not only unique in the world, but also the literal definition you would find in the dictionary if you looked up the meaning of the word ‘wonder’. From the Belvedere, you can take a path of less than 1km that will take you to the Dolmen di Monte Longu. Follow the signs, be careful and wear suitable shoes, it is not an easy stroll, but during the ascent you will have a breath-taking view of the Gulf and once you reach the Dolmen, you will see a very special prehistoric funerary monument. The ancients, indeed, used the rocks that emerged from the ground to build it. Remember that this place has been like this for over 5,000 years, so please leave no trace of your passage, but live this experience with deep respect.
